Ms.Tia Moore
Program Director

Escondido, CA 9205

Dear Ms. Moore:

I am writing to request that students at San Pasqual Academy can go on self-passes at a younger age. Currently, students must be sixteen to go off of campus without an adult. I think students should be allowed to earn self-passes at the age of fifteen.

Students should be allowed to go on self-passes at the age of fifteen because I don’t think that they should have to wait until the are 16. My reasons are that sometimes it gets really, really boring on campus and i would be nice if we could go to a friends house off campus instead of always going with the same people all the time to the same places.

Thank you for your consideration and your time. I appreciate it and look forward to meeting with you so we can talk about this topic more. I hope that you do accept this request for self-pass at the age of fifteen i think that would be great and a lot of kids would enjoy the opportunity to go on self pass at the age of fifteen instead of sixteen.

Sincerely,

Brian

A time when I felt trapped between two worlds is here at San Pasqual Academy is the difference between being on campus and off campus. Like when we go on outings or pass its so different from here so it feels like two totally different worlds. I feel like I’m trapped when I’m here because we cant go anywhere unless its like a scheduled outing. Were stuck seeing the same people every single day it gets really annoying. Also were like in the middle of nowhere we have to drive for like 15 minutes just to get to society it seems like.

When I look into the orange groves I see money because there are hundreds of trees surrounding us here at San Pasqual Academy, so I’m pretty sure that they make a lot of money from all the oranges that they sell. I see them pick all the oranges twice a year. The workers are out here for like a week straight picking all the oranges. I wish that they wouldn’t use pesticides on the orange trees because that is bad. Getting to live among all these trees makes me feel a little trapped but I like the orange trees so it’s all good.

Summer School Plan

Summer School Plan

I hope that I will get to pass Ms. Priester class this time so I don’t have to do it next year. I also hope to pass so I can play football. This school year I hope to pass my sophomore year with a 3.00 or better. I don’t want to fail any of my classes, because I don’t want to take summer school again. I want to pass summer school so I can get off of two-hour, because two-hour sucks. I think my goals for this year a fairly reasonable and I think I can accomplish my goals.

Symbolism Assessment Project

Autobiographical Narrative

Brian H

Period 2
My Broken Finger

I love to play football. I feel football is a great outlet for releasing stress. I also feeling l that football is something I’m very good at football. It’s one of the few things I feel I’m good at. I work extremely hard when I play and train, I can say football is my favorite sports to play. One particular challenge I overcame happened this past football season. I broke my pinky in the middle of a game. I still ended up scoring two touchdowns and finishing the game. I felt great but later found out the bigger challenge was still ahead.
After playing a great game I was pumped and excited about my performance. After getting home I had my social worker Nick look at my pinky, he decided to take me to the Children’s Hospital and from the Children’s Hospital I went to Palomar Hospital to go get X rays. Then I went back to the children’s hospital and they confirmed that my pinky was broken. At first I was really mad because I knew that I wouldn’t be able to play football for like 6 weeks. After waiting for another hour the doctor finally came in and told me that I wouldn’t be able to play for about 3 to 6 weeks. My only reaction was “Damn It” I can’t play football.
Here is where I had to challenge myself to overcome my injury. Without even knowing it I was depressed and mad about me not be able to play football and possibly not finishing the season with my team. Besides that, the injury was on my right hand so I couldn’t eat, write, or play video games. It was hard to do anything and I was getting angrier every day. But the worst was not having any control. How can a pinky stop me from playing, and how one doctor note can change the way I feel. I became rebellious and didn’t figure it would be worth doing anything, for what.
After days of not going to school and just sleeping long naps I became frustrated and started messing with my cast. It didn’t take long to start breaking it apart I was up all night till like 2 trying to take it off with help of my roommates. Then the next day I was ready to go to football practice I had all my gear on. I was waiting in the office then Beth came out and said “ What the heck did you do?” I told her, then they made me go home and had the nurse set another appointment for me to get another cast put on the next day. I knew then I needed to be patient and let time heal my finger.
In conclusion I was able to have the doctor look at my finger after three weeks and my pinky was healed! I was approved by the doctor to play football and the final four games of the season. I t was hard. I also overcame not using my right hand. I adjusted my everyday routine, I learned to eat and wash with my left hand. I think I overcame this challenge because it thought me to be patience and think about consequences. I still love to play football and I know there are bad things that happen but I can’t control that. I can control how I handle it though.

Persuasive Essay Final Draft

Throughout my short time here at San Pasqual Academy I have learned how important it is to work out and take care of my body. Exercise and a well balance meal are always preached to us. Water and healthy snacks are always provided for us. This essay will give a persuasive opinion on the benefits of working out and also try to understand why many students don’t make effort to do more.
I wanted to talk about exercising and how working out can help you in many ways. I have been working out for the last three months almost every day and I have improved my body a lot. I workout three days a week and have football training for cardio. According to Nurse Frank working out every other day helps a heart grow strong and healthy. He also said that if you work out and take care of your body your mind becomes stronger too. A lot of people say that the food at SPA is bad for you and not healthy I think it’s all in portions and if you exercise you should burn the calories off.
Another issue is laziness. Coach Serrano always push’s people to work out and train for football. He opens the gym at six in the morning everyday for kids can go in there to work out. He has played college football and says he can help get us into physical shape to play at the next level. Coach says 3-4 days a week with 45 minutes each workout can change your life. But not many people show up. I always hear people come it with excuses on why not to go “I stayed up late”, it’s way too early”, “and I work out later”. It’s a life change not a chore Coach says, that’s why many people don’t show up.
Lastly I feel exercise is important and people should start learning how to exercise would be the increasing of your life span. One study found that the average 65-year-old can expect an additional 12.7 years of healthy life –- meaning he will live disability-free until age 77.7. Highly active 65-years-olds, however, have an additional 5.7 years of healthy life expectancy –- they will remain disability free until age 83.4 (lifelong fitness). Plus you feel good and confident to go after girls. It also goes both ways women who workout and feel confident also can feel better about themselves but many settle for laziness.
So again I just want to persuade my classmate’s to start working out and start doing some kind of exercise to improve their health and body. I know I can do better myself at working out but I have started a workout out program and I feel great. I think anyone who wants to start exercising should write down the days they want to exercise and workout those days no matter what. Follow a schedule and write down your workouts to see your progression.

Symbolism in “The Skull and the Arrow” Underdog Paragraph

Symbolism in “The Skull and the Arrow” Underdog Paragraph

A Time when I was an underdog was when we played Murrieta Thunder hawks. We played them earlier in the season but that was when I broke my pinky so I didn’t get to play and one of our other players was injured to so we ended up losing 20-6 our only loss of the season. So four games later we play them in the Polmar Championship. So three plays into their first drive I get a pick in the back of the end zone and take it all the way back to the fifty. Which leads out team to score the first Touchdown. Then we kick it off and stop them so they punt it and I end up getting a touchdown I took it to the house because im a beast. But we ended up beating them and winning the Championship.

"The Cask of Amontillado" Before You Read: Revenge

A Time when I sought revenge was in a football game during Pop Warner. Were playing this team called Torrey Pines they are really good but we spanked them but anyways. It was on a kick off and the whistle blew the play was over but then out of no where some dude comes up and tries to put me on my back of course he DIDN’T succeed But I told “I got you”. Bam a couple plays later I came up and crakes the mess out of him I might have got a late hit penalty for it but I got him back.
